Sam Blake provides financial sponsors and other institutional investors with guidance on the full range of complex infrastructure-related corporate and M&A transactions.
Bio
Mr. Blake’s experience covers all major infrastructure sectors, including energy and energy transition, power and utilities, digital, transportation and logistics, health care and social infrastructure in the U.K. and throughout Europe.
Prior to joining Skadden, Mr. Blake was a partner at a leading infrastructure investment firm, where he led all legal aspects of multiple transactions, in addition to advising the firm’s portfolio companies on a broad range of legal matters. His experience prior to joining Skadden includes advising on the:
- acquisition of NorthC, a Dutch-based colocation data centre platform, from DWS Asset Management
- acquisition of Portakabin, a U.K.-based modular construction business, from its founding family
- acquisition of Consilium Safety, an international fire and gas detection business, from Nordic Capital
- sale of Roadchef, an owner and operator of U.K. motorway service areas, to Macquarie Asset Management
- sale of Lyntia Networks to a consortium consisting of AXA Investment Management, Swiss Life Asset Managers and HRL Morrison
- acquisition of European Rail Rent, a DACH rail freight wagon management company, from its founders and creation of a new asset company
- sale of Amedes, a German clinical laboratories business, to a consortium consisting of OMERS Infrastructure, Goldman Sachs Infrastructure Partners and AXA Infrastructure Equity
- acquisition of Hippocrates Holding, a group of Italian pharmacies, from a consortium of Italian private investors and family offices
- acquisition of Miya Water, an owner and operator of Portuguese water concessions and international water management activities, from Bridgepoint, and the subsequent carve-out of Miya Water’s international business
- sale of Kellas Midstream Limited, a natural gas pipeline owner and operator in the North Sea, to a consortium consisting of BlackRock and GIC
- acquisition of Veolia District Energy (subsequently renamed Vicinity), a portfolio of district energy, cogeneration and landfill gas-to-energy plants in the U.S., from Veolia
- acquisition of Solvtrans, an international salmon well-boat business headquartered in Norway, from Oaktree
- establishment of Lyntia Access (subsequently renamed Elanta), a wholesale fibre optic business in Spain
- acquisition of Ufinet (subsequently renamed Lyntia Networks), a Spanish wholesale dark and lit fibre optic business headquartered in Madrid, from Cinven
