Bio

Julie Weber represents public figures and corporations and their employees in complex, high-stakes matters before criminal courts and other penal jurisdictions in France and Monaco.

Ms. Weber has extensive knowledge of France’s correctional laws and penitentiary system, having previously worked for the French Interregional Directorate of Penitentiary Services. She is also experienced in advocating before disciplinary panels and administrative courts on related legal issues.

Her experience prior to joining Skadden includes:

  • assisting a former French politician in Cour de justice de la République proceedings related to the management of the COVID-19 pandemic
  • defending a private medical clinic and its employee in a case involving involuntary manslaughter charges
  • acting on behalf of one of Paris’ leading auction houses in a case involving allegations of breach of trust
  • handling an extradition matter in a cryptocurrency case involving allegations of fraud and money laundering, in which investors were defrauded out of billions of dollars
  • assisting a client in a tax fraud matter arising out of a leak of information by a former employee of a major financial institution
  • defending numerous individuals against criminal allegations
