Palo Alto partner Joe Yaffe, along with counsel Kristin Davis and Ali Murata, presented a client CLE seminar titled "Avoiding Tax Pitfalls in Executive Compensation" on October 11. It also was offered as a concurrent webcast. The speakers discussed a range of tax issues relating to executive compensation, including Internal Revenue Code Sections 409A and 162(m) and bonus deductibility rules. They also provided the audience with tips on compliance procedures and what to do if a potential tax code violation is discovered.
