The role of shareholders in managing corporations has come into focus since the global financial crisis and subsequent recessions in Europe. Since 2010, more than 100 publicly listed European companies have been targeted by activists. A combination of regulatory changes and a cultural shift in attitudes towards more sophisticated techniques suggest activism investing will continue to rise significantly across the continent.
