Iacovos Antoniou advises on all aspects of EU, U.K. and international competition law, including merger control, antitrust investigations and compliance with Articles 101 and 102 TFEU.

Bio

Mr. Antoniou has significant experience counseling clients on multijurisdictional mergers and conduct investigations before the European Commission, the U.K. Competition and Markets Authority and other antitrust regulators. He regularly assists clients in navigating complex regulatory environments and complying with competition laws across various jurisdictions. His clients span a broad spectrum of sectors, including financial services, health care, insurance, manufacturing, semiconductors and software.

Representative matters include, among others:

  • Ansys, Inc. in the global antitrust aspects of its $35 billion acquisition by Synopsys, Inc.
  • Castik Capital S.a.r.L. and other shareholders of Waterlogic plc in Waterlogic’s merger with Culligan International
  • Corebridge Financial Inc. in the £460 million sale of its U.K. life insurance business, AIG Life Limited, to Aviva plc
  • Elon Musk in his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter, Inc.
  • HP Inc. in global antitrust aspects of its $3.3 billion acquisition of Poly
  • Intact Financial Corporation and its subsidiary Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Limited, in their $648 million acquisition of the brokered commercial lines operations of Direct Line Insurance Group plc
  • Intel Corporation in its proposed (but terminated) $5.4 billion acquisition of Tower Semiconductor
  • Intelsat S.A. in its $3.1 billion acquisition by SES S.A.
  • International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. in the $2.85 billion sale of its pharma solutions business unit to Roquette Frères S.A.
  • Konecranes Plc in connection with the global antitrust aspects of its proposed (but terminated) merger with Cargotec Corporation
  • ServiceNow, Inc. in its $2.85 billion acquisition of Moveworks, Inc.
  • Stryker Corporation in its $5.4 billion acquisition of Wright Medical Group N.V.
  • UniCredit in relation to the European Commission investigation of an alleged cartel violation in relation to European government bonds

Prior to joining Skadden, Mr. Antoniou completed a traineeship in the cabinet of Judge Savvas Papasavvas of the General Court of the Court of Justice of the European Union.
