Danette Chan advises clients on antitrust/competition aspects of cross-border mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures. Ms. Chan has counseled on transactions across a broad range of industries that require antitrust merger control approvals in the Asia Pacific region, the EU and globally. She also has advised clients on post-closing remedy implementation in China.

Ms. Chan’s notable representations include advising clients in the semiconductor, technology, industrial, aerospace, health care and automotive sectors, including:

  • Ansys, Inc. (U.S.) in its US$35 billion acquisition by Synopsys, Inc.
  • Splunk Inc. (U.S.) in its US$28 billion acquisition by Cisco Systems, Inc.
  • SK hynix Inc. (South Korea) in its US$9 billion acquisition of the NAND memory and storage business of Intel Corporation
  • WABCO Holdings Inc. (Belgium) in its US$7 billion merger with ZF Friedrichshafen AG. The transaction was named Merger Control Matter of the Year — Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa at the GCR Awards
  • Xilinx, Inc. (U.S.) in its US$35 billion acquisition by Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
  • Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (U.S.) in its US$3.8 billion sale of the performance materials division of its materials technologies segment to Evonik Industries AG
  • E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company (U.S.) in:
    • the US$45.4 billion merger of its Nutrition & Biosciences business with International Flavors & Fragrances Inc.
