Leslie Demers concentrates her practice on complex litigation and arbitration involving patents, trade secrets and other intellectual property litigation, as well as counseling on IP diligence, licensing, freedom to operate and protecting intellectual property rights.

Bio

Ms. Demers has handled matters involving technologies across varied industries, including pharmaceutical, medical device, renewable energy, industrial machinery, semiconductor and information technology.

Ms. Demers’ representative engagements include:

  • securing a jury verdict for defendant Universal Alloy Corporation in a trade secret misappropriation case concerning aluminum alloy aircraft parts brought by Arconic Corp. (f/k/a Alcoa) in the Northern District of Georgia
  • serving as the lead Skadden lawyer in an ongoing copyright infringement matter
  • asserting and defending patent infringement claims in an ongoing dispute involving cybersecurity competitors
  • defending a brand name drug defendant in an antitrust proceeding following settlement of Hatch-Waxman cases
  • representing a U.S. manufacturer of induction heating units in a patent infringement suit
  • advising on IP disputes relating to the bankruptcy of a global renewable energy development company
  • a bet-the-company arbitration involving an IP licensing dispute
  • representing a leading flavor and fragrance company in a trade secret, unfair competition and breach of contract action
  • defending an API manufacturer in Hatch-Waxman litigation

Ms. Demers also devotes time to pro bono matters, including in conjunction with Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, which provides legal aid to New York artists and inventors.
