Skadden advised the unsecured creditors committee of AMR Corporation, the parent company of American Airlines, Inc., in settling litigation brought by the U.S. Justice Department and numerous state attorneys general challenging the merger of AMR and US Airways. Under the terms of the settlement announced on November 12, the airlines will divest certain slot pairs, gates and related facilities to support services at seven airports nationwide following the completion of the merger, which is expected in December 2013.
